Now that your daughter is finished with high school (and all those extra-curricular activities) you may find yourself with less to do!
To help fill that void, and allow you to support and stay connected with your daughter and the organization she has joined, you can become a member of the Alpha Phi Parents Club. Your involvement and support will help you remain close to your daughter while giving you a chance to make contributions which help the chapter as a whole.
Some activities in which our parents have participated:
- Formal Recruitment Support (building stages, helping in the kitchen, etc.)
- Rockin’ Red Dress Poker Tournament
- Mom & Dad’s Weekend Gift Basket Auction
- Homecoming Activities
- Greek Week Activities
- Senior Send Off
A Note from the Parents Club
Welcome! Your daughters have embarked on a wonderful enhancement to their life in college and beyond.
I fully recognize the lasting benefits of your daughter’s membership in Alpha Phi, as I am an Omicron member as well! I pledged Alpha Phi-Omicron in the fall of 1980 and was so excited and proud when my daughter made the decision to follow in my footsteps. Throughout the years I have recognized the strength of character, leadership and lasting friendships Alpha Phi has given me. Times have changed, but the legacy of Alpha Phi continues to provide a “tie which unites a circle of friends” for women young and old all around the world. From hand to hand and heart to heart, we are all grateful and proud of the legacy left to us by our founders.
Most of the benefits, activities and friendships Alpha Phi offers are enjoyed by the members themselves. But parents benefit too.
The Parents Club is a supporting organization for the Chapter, particularly in the areas of increased communication and modest financial support. We work with the girls to host several events a year at which parents can spend time in the chapter house, meet other parents, and enjoy activities with their daughters and their new ‘sisters.’ We also provide monetary support for discrete chapter endeavors. For example, over the last two years, the Parents Club has contributed funds for creation and enhancement of Omicron’s website. The website as well as our other social media outlets are a great way for you to learn more about the history of Alpha Phi, stay current with the Chapter’s activities and view photos of your daughter as she participates in various Greek and campus activities. Additionally, the Parent’s Club has funded the purchase and install of Microsoft Office 2001 for the Chapter’s computer room, a new TV for the first floor, and help with the purchase of the Centennial sign.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Ellen Butler. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you at Moms Weekend, Dads Weekend and other Greek events.
Sincerely,
Ellen Butler
